The mission of Delta Kappa Alpha is to foster lifelong character, collaborative and creative storytelling, ethical and productive business practices, philanthropic action, and fraternal bonds by and between students of the cinematic arts.

Delta Kappa Alpha is a Cinematic Arts Society, with alumni such as George Lucas, Julie Andrews, and Paul Newman. The vision of Delta Kappa Alpha is to be recognized as the premier institute of upstanding entertainment industry leaders. As members, we are dedicated to creating an open and inclusive environment in the entertainment industry.

On March 16th, 1936, a group of 10 cinematography students at the University of Southern California started Delta Kappa Alpha, a cinematography fraternity. They took the initials of the President, Allen K. Dallas, and rearranged them to make DKA. Now, over 80 years after its founding, Delta Kappa Alpha has chapters all over the country in the top film schools.

It all began in November of 2016…

The Tau Colony of Delta Kappa Alpha at DePaul University was formed in the winter of 2016, and installed on January 14th, 2017, with 13 members. After chartering in February of 2020, we have since become a full chapter of DKA, and have grown to 40 members.
